The experiment to translate Thai improvisation into modern design produced the result of "poldi" as an installation. The Thai people are known for their manual skills and ideas, using the simplest materials and methods, they come up with big, wild, but still functioning constructs.
Streets and entire villages are spanned by the most interesting webs of cables, waving their way in between the poles. Power failures are quite rare, despite the appearance. When looking at the installation, one has to immediately think of Hella Jongerius' couch "polder", once again realising that improvisation always has its own dynamics and charm.
