Located to the north of the “bird nest”, the “linglong tower” will be transformed to a reception center from the original function as media centre during 2008 Olympic games. XWG archi-studio has completed the fifth floor interior design.

The morphological gradient and the material contrast of triangular cones is the theme of the interior design. Different types of triangular cones with different height produce the gradient roof, which is responsive to the change of space height. The height of the cones, interior space height and sightseeing factor have achieved the parametric correlation. The parametric model can cope with the change of design during the whole process. White polycarbonate panels and mirror stainless steel are the main material. Triangular cones of different size and material, complexity controlled by computer, created a very light feeling, and crystal clear space.

玲珑塔位于国家体育场“鸟巢”北侧，2008年北京奥运会之后，将由原来的电视转播设施转变成接待和观光场所。XWG建筑工作室承担了其中的第五层室内设计。

室内设计以三角锥体的形态渐变和材料对比为主题，若干种不同锥高的锥体单元共同组成了连续渐变的天花界面，以响应室内空间高度的变化。锥体的高度与室内空间高度及视线因素等通过计算机技术实现了参数化的关联；以此为基础建立起来的参数化模型能够在整个设计及建造阶段高效地应对设计变化。锥体材料主要为白色耐力板和镜面不锈钢。不同尺寸及材料的锥体在计算机参与的控制下，在融合玲珑塔建筑本身特征的同时，创造出极富光感、晶莹剔透的空间。
