Project team:Bjarke Ingels, Niels Lund Pedersen, Julien De Smedt, Karsten Hammer Hansen, Louise H?yer, Nanako Ishizuka, Nanna Gyldholm M?ller, Rie Shiomi, Stefan Mylleager.The retail-shop in the world famous TIVOLI in Copenhagen will be experienced more as a formation of glowing bobles than an actual building. The profile of the shop is dominated by the transperant semi-domes that covers walls and roof. The semi-domes at the same time functions as shop displays and gives the building its light and lively facade. The building site right next to the main entrance has great importance. The building will be extremely exposed and thus have great branding value for the park. The best TIVOLI buildings from the 50’s and 60’s are caracterized by light constructions and transperancy combined with a consious use of light and colour to create that special TIVOLI feeling. Its in this tradition we have designed the building at the same time created a very modern expression.
