Pieter Brenner designed the first chair out of sugar
The sugarchair is worldwide the first product of this size completely made out of almost 30 Kilo sugar.
The sugarchair can be shaped by its owner into a personalized and unique form. Thru the shaping
and the treatment of its owner, the sugarchair will turn into a very unique object.” The user can
play an active part in the design with form and the dimensions of the object himself”, states
Brenner. “The more consumed, the less mass left of the chair”. The sugarchair can be seen at the
KISDshop in Cologne, Germany from Mai 26th (8 PM, local time) until June 5th 2011. Pieter
Brenner will be there and have a few words toward the sugarchair.
Consumption as recycling
“I placed choice of material, individualization and recycling on a new level“ says the designer.
Brenner pointing out a big future because, “Sugar will become the basic material for eco-fuel,
plastics and cosmetics.”
